Principled Business Virtual Internships

Principled Business is a 501(c)(3) organization supporting current and developing future leaders to be the best representatives of and advocates for capitalism.

Principled Business internship program offers young people the opportunity to develop hands-on experience across a variety of activities to build a movement including fundraising, marketing, and program management, while learning professional skills and expanding their professional network. Engage with seasoned business leaders, inspire future entrepreneurs, and help share the impactful stories of the principles of capitalism in action.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall 2024 Semester

    For the upcoming Fall 2024 term, applications close on August 24, 2024.

    Applicants will receive a final decision by August 30, 2024.

    Internships run from September 9-November 22, 2024.

  • Spring 2025 Semester

    For the Spring 2025 term, applications will open on September 27, 2024, and close on November 27, 2024.

    Applicants will receive a final decision by December 7, 2024.

    Internships run from January 13 - April 18, 2025.

The Development Intern will be an integral part of Principled Business’s Development department, assisting with various day-to-day activities and maintaining the integrity of our internal records and database. This position provides the opportunity to work on several high-priority projects and interact with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and senior leadership. The ideal candidate should be organized, have excellent written and spoken English communication skills, attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and an affinity for the Principled Business mission.

The intern will report to the Operations Manager and serve on the Development team. This team creates connections and awareness for our work and raises funds to support it. They host our service opportunities, networking, and educational events. They also build edifying, sustainable relationships with individual and corporate donors.

As our development intern, you will gain ongoing training and education in development skills and tools, first-hand experience managing a portfolio from the bottom up, from HubSpot data entry to big-picture strategy, experience planning and executing events, etc., and guidance on crafting a career plan and connecting to opportunities after the internship.

  • Responsibilities

    • Assist the team in managing the donor database (HubSpot), processing donations, preparing acknowledgments, and troubleshooting issues.

    • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the database by ensuring all information is kept current and up-to-date.

    • Responsible for administrative duties such as data entry, donor communications, and scheduling meetings.

    • Research as needed for current and prospective donors.

    • Support the Development Team for fundraising events, mailings, and other projects.

  • Requirements

    • Willingness to work for 15 hours a week

    • Proficiency with Excel and other programs in Microsoft Suite.

    • Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

    • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with a professional demeanor in person, on the phone or via email.

    • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.

    • Data and deadline-driven, with attention to detail.

    • Interest in Principled Business’s mission.
